Stash Premium Chai Tea Sampler, Variety Pack of Six Flavors, Tea Bags, 18-Count Boxes
I like Stash's white tea and ginger lemon tea so I know they are capable of making good tea. This chai tea sampler has a bad chemically taste that I can not stand. It's cheap so I don't feel like going through the trouble of returning it and I might start adding milk or something just to cut some of the horrible taste. I say avoid this one or definitely don't buy the 6 pack like I did!

I am happy to find that they sell this chai tea sampler on Amazon, after becoming obsessed with this sampler and then moving away from Portland. I love all the flavors, and that they have a mix of caf and decaf teas. I love the holiday chai and the double spice chai. My least favorite is the green tea chai, but it is still better than other teas. That flavor takes a bit of getting used to, but it's also good. I drink my tea also with milk and a dab of sugar.

at a fraction of the price you'll see in stores. Flavors range from spicy double chai to light green tea chai. Mix of caf and decaf. great!

This is a great introduction to the Indian tea known as chai. Common chai spices are cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, allspice and cardamon. These can be blended in a myriad of ways, so chai teas can taste very different.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites in this set are the Green Chai which is heavier on the ginger and the Decaf Vanilla Chai which adds vanilla into the mix.
Chai Spice, regular and decaf, are also very nice as is the Holiday Chai pushes the nutmeg and clove forward. Personally, I am less fond of the Double Spice Chai because it has a very strong cinnamon flavor, but that is more of a personal preference.
We usually steep these for about 5 minutes (although they don't get bitter if they go longer) and drink them with sweetener and cream.
