Product Description
Experience a refreshing alternative in the exotic world of chai. We’ve crafted this unique blend with carefully selected organic China Chun Mee green tea. A favorite in China for over 400 years, this delicious tea has natural antioxidant properties that enhance the body’s defenses against damaging free radicals. Lively cinnamon and ginger combine for true chai flavor, and light, peppery notes of cardamom round off the full-bodied flavor of this captivating tea. So, when you’re in the mood for something a little different, enjoy the exquisite experience of Yogi’s Chai Green. About the Brand Our story begins in 1969 when Yogi Bhajan, an inspired and inspiring teacher of holistic living, started teaching yoga in America. He shared the wisdom and knowledge of Ayurveda and healthy living that he had mastered in India with his students while serving a specially spiced tea, which they affectionately named "Yogi Tea. The recipe contained five traditional Ayurvedic spices: cardamom seed, cinnamon bark, clove bud, ginger root and black pepper. When blended and brewed, these delicious spices leave you feeling vibrant and alive, while boosting overall well-being. Intrigued by the complex flavor and inherent health benefits of this unique combination of spices, it wasn't long before several of the yogi's students were inspired to brew their own "Yogi Tea. In 1984 this grassroots endeavor blossomed into the Yogi Tea Company. Packages of the rough, dried spices began to appear in natural foods stores throughout Southern California. As demand increased, the spices were more finely ground, packaged and sealed into individual tea bags. By 1986, Yogi Tea was distributed nationwide in three flavors.

  1. This is the best green tea to get you going in the morning! It has a peppery zing that I love! Years ago I tried various brands and settled on this one as my lifelong waker upper! I have been using this tea for 8 years.. you would think I might be tired of it by now but I am not!

  2. i never knew how healing this tea is till i stopped using it. I have used this tea for several years now, however i was traveling internationally for about 6 months and did not have this tea on hand. I kept getting congested all the time i was there. I asked my sister to mail me a box of this tea. I never felt more relieved afterward....by the way this was nasal, sinus and chest congestion. I do also eat a lot of dairy products. The warming ginger and pepper act as perfect antidotes for releiving excess mucus. Plus this tea has actual ginger root(not extract), and all the herbs they use are in their whole form and not in extract like many teas.

Thanx yogi, for creating this masterpiece of a healing tea.

  4. I've tried every green chai available and this is hands down my favorite. The dominant spice is ginger and the aromas during steeping are incredible.

Unlike many green teas, you can brew this for an extended time (i.e. when you forget about it) and it still doesn't get bitter. I take mine with a little sweetener and some cream.

Excellent tea and it can't hurt that it is organic. Enjoy!
